Week of November 8, 2020 : The Assignment

Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:1-2

“I, Paul, am on special assignment for Christ, carrying out God’s plan laid out in the message of life by Jesus.” (MSG).

There were many in the Bible we can quickly trace back to such as Noah who was given the assignment of building the ark. Moses who was given the huge task of leading millions of the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land. Joshua who was given the torch to bring them into the Promised Land. Esther who was chosen to be a queen for such a time to save her people from annihilation. Nehemiah who was heavily passionate and burdened with the task of rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. And the disciples, as well as the Apostle Paul, carried out the Great Commission to all the nations and spread the gospel.

We also have an assignment to spread the GOOD NEWS about JESUS! How He continuously keeps us from falling. The other day,  I was in my kitchen preparing dinner when the Holy Spirit came to me. I begin to praise God for all the times I've come into my kitchen to prepare meals for my family. There was one fond memory of my dad who is no longer with us. He had come over one year to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. We had conversations about his childhood, how he enjoyed the holidays and his favored dish; potato salad. There was a moment when silent became our conversation. Something was being exchanged without either one of us saying a word! In that moment I thanked God for reconciling our relationship. With tears in my father's eyes. He knew I had forgiven him.

God has a special assignment for you this week. Go forth and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ! Someone is waiting for your forgiveness. Someone is hoping you will offer your assistance. Others may be waiting for you to show up. They too are on a special assignment!

Let Us Pray:

Gracious and Merciful Father, I come to you in meanness knowing I am far from perfect but thankful that you considered me to go spread the good news. Lord direct our path. Season our words that you maybe glorified in heaven and earth in Jesus name Amen!

Be Blessed, Minister Kim
