Week of November 15, 2020 - Transform my mind, O Lord
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5, (KJV)
Distractions are an inevitable part of life. We are often so consumed by the habits and rituals that our daily lives demand, that we lose sobriety. We underestimate the power of a renewed mind.
The holidays are approaching with many of us finding ourselves stuck on how to pull this year's festivities off. Some have already cancelled their trips while others are determined not to allow what's happening in the world to defer their plans. No matter what you decide it is important that you understand the time. We are living in uncertainty! We receive reports daily; status of the election, pandemic, schools remaining open or closing! It can be overwhelming leaving some feeling hopeless!
Colossians 3:2 informs us we should set our minds on what's above and not on the things that are happening in the world. Keeping our minds on Christ gives the reassurance we need to get through another day!
Pray beyond your current situation; Ask for the ability to focus on all God has done, and will continue to do. When you are focused on the things above, you are reminded of all He is, and all He has been. It’s the faithfulness of God that will sustain your mind.
Let Us Pray:
Father, I thank you that it is Your intent for me to walk in peace and wholeness. I thank You for giving me hope and strength, through Your Word. I thank You that it is Your will for me to live with a renewed mind.
LORD, the same mind that was in Christ Jesus I believe is accessible to us. I pray this week you will keep our mind on the things above that are constant, and not on those that are temporary. We choose to remain Spiritually-minded, knowing when we do it brings forth life and peace, while being carnally-minded equates to death. In Jesus name Amen!
