Week of May 17: My Place of Worship
Scripture: Psalm 27:8
“When You said 'Seek My face,' My heart said to You, 'Your face, LORD, I will seek'”
My Place of Worship
It’s Saturday evening and I am pondering “how much longer will I have to be inside these four walls?” I bet you are wondering as well. Many of us look forward to preparing ourselves the night before for our weekly worship service on Sunday’s. Things have changed due to COVID-19. Church buildings are closed!
Many Pastors are using alternative ways to conduct online services to help their members
stay connected! And I must say, I am thankful for it! My mother says “ You don’t miss something or until it's gone.” True fact as I sit here in my room thinking about the last church service, Where was I and what was the sermon on?
I am reminded of Psalm 27, King David was living in the wilderness of Judea. He had been forced to flee there by his enemy, King Saul. Physically speaking, David was a long ways from the place known as the Tabernacle. Perhaps much like many of us who can remember some good times we enjoyed in our fellowship services. David longed for those moments once again. I am sure that he was more than ready to leave the barren wilderness; yet that did not mean that he had to wait to enjoy the presence of God. I have always believed that the Temple David desired was more than a physical location. It was a place in his spirit where he could be in full fellowship with God and be engulfed in His glory.
Just like David, you and I are in a pandemic that confines us from going to our place of worship! But it does not have to stop us from seeking the face of God! He will never leave nor forsake us. Therefore, find your place of worship and get in His presence. I will not allow COVID-19 stop my fellowship with the Lord! You have been summoned to seek His face. Will you take the challenge?
Let’s Us Prayer:
O Lord, my God in whom I put my trust in. Help us as we enter into this day to desire to glorify you regardless of our location, condition and circumstances we thirst for You in Jesus name Amen!
