Week of March 8, 2020 Don't Hit the Button

Scripture:  Deuteronomy 5:8-9

"Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

Good Morning GOD

Are you ready to greet the day each morning?  Some of us struggle with getting out of bed in the morning. Are you one of those who hit the snooze button every now and then? Have you discovered you no longer awake with an attitude of gratitude? We can all fall into a rut. Where your once routine seemed to be altered by life distractions!

More important than greeting the day is meeting God in the morning. How do you meet God in the morning? Let’s face it, prayer is a discipline. It takes a conscious effort to make prayer a habit!  The Bible teaches that prayer unleashes great power, comfort, wisdom, hope, blessing, joy and so much more. Now isn’t that a wonderful way to start each and every day!

Each day is a gift from God. A new day to embrace what He has in store for you. Remember " This is the day the LORD has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it-Psalm 118:24.

Let Us Pray

Loving and Devoted Father, you are to us. Come and show us the way to keep You first! Waking up to the newest of Your creation. Expecting to experience Your wonders in creation should out-weigh the distractions we face daily. But there are times when the fresh becomes weak, tired and we feel compelled to slack in the area of acknowledging and spending those first moments in the morning with YOU. Forgive us Father and help us to push past those things in Jesus name Amen!
