Week of July 5: Fireworks in July

Scripture: Psalm 33:12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

The month of July is typically known for BBQ’s, family reunions, vacations and celebration of Independence Day. Along with these celebrations many times come fireworks. This year the 4th of July seemed different. Some people did gather in nearby parks, others hosted BBQ’s in their backyards and finally there were those who chose to stay indoors. I fit into that group. My family and I  chose to stay home. We had a quiet indoor seafood boil. It felt good to sit around the table watching each other crack open lobsters and crab legs. Laugh and cheer each other on when one finally got to the meat and quickly chewed on it to savor the flavor. God is LORD, Yahweh, King of Israel and our Redeemer. He is King of all nations. He is able to bring peace, joy and laughter at any given time! We his children must remember to always celebrate what God has given us; family, homes, jobs, friends, unconditional love, mercy and grace! Remember, you  don't have to wait for a national holiday to celebrate with others! Have a BBQ and invite others over, host your next family reunion or  schedule a mini-family-vacation.  Let Us Pray: LORD, on this week help us to be creative in the things you have provided. Whether it's a  nature walk in the park, a drive out to the suburbs or just an indoor picnic with the family. We want to show you our appreciation for being apart of your Kingdom in Jesus name, Amen!
