Week of April 19 - I See His Compassion
Scripture: Exodus 33:19
“ And the Lord said :I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion.’
I See His Compassion
Compassion alludes to kindness and sympathy, but there is something deeper, something even more profoundly powerful, in its meaning.
In Latin, “compati” means “suffer with.” Compassion means someone else’s heartbreak becomes your heartbreak. Another’s suffering becomes your suffering. True compass changes the way we live.
Our lives will never be the same as it's been impacted by the effects of COVID-19. We’ve adjusted our lives personally and professionally to combat this pandemic which continues to destroy the lives of others! We also see those who have survived it!! Whether we have lossed or celebrated the survival of one! We are in this together! The best part is God is in the midst of it all! He is showing us his compassion daily!
This week celebrate those who are on the frontline! Celebrate those who are preparing meals to feed those in need. Shelters who are placing those in isolated quarters to reduce the risk of infecting others! And celebrate yourself for making it through another day!
Let’s Us Pray:
Lord, thank you for showing us the essence of your compassion towards us. Without it we would be nothing, but You saw fit to teach and show us the importance of being kind, lovely, and forgiving towards our brothers and sisters. Through this pandemic we are thankful to see some many risking their lives to help comfort and save another. Lord, this week strengthen the weary and encourage the fearful. Let us get through this pandemic with the joy and peace of You, in Jesus name Amen.
