Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14

" If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

If children in your area did not start back to school in the last week or so, they will be in session before too long. “Back-to-school” is a societal and seasonal turning point in America. It seems that when the school year begins, everything in our lives shifts and resets. The annual ritual of heading back to school is also spiritually significant for our children’s future. They start fresh, also, with new teachers and new subjects, new friends and new interests that could unfold into their destiny in Christ.

Join us in prayer as we petition the Lord on their behalf.

Let Us Pray

Loving God, we come to you at this new beginning of the school year.

We have been many places during the summer and our journey has brought us back to this place and this time together.

We know that this is not by accident, but by your intimate design for each of us.

As we turn towards you at the beginning of this year as a school community,

we begin by saying thank you for this call to service for children and their schools.  Thank you for where we are on our journey and for the journey ahead. Lord, we ask that you cover our children and those involved in this school year, Amen,

Scripture: Scripture: Romans 12:2

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Children are a gift, a blessing from God.  Every single day you may find yourself doing a lot for your children, loving and caring for them, nurturing, teaching, training, helping, leading, equipping, encouraging, protecting, and so much more. That you forget the most important thing, PRAY. Our daily routine has the potential to through us off track. Therefore we are constantly encouraging you to set time to pray for your precious gift, your children.

Let Us Pray

Lord, steady their hearts and minds to be open to what is being constantly revealed through your loving presence. Give them joy-filled hearts a warm and friendly attitude that is open to the movement of your spirit and to others.  Help them to be open and ready to respond to what is needed by their teachers, parents, and communities. In you, we place our beloved sons and daughters into your hands in Jesus name, Amen,

Topic: Why I Seek Him

Every year my Pastor puts us on a 21-day fast. There was something different about this year for me. I yearned to be close to God. To experience His presence, hear His voice and obey. So I set out on a quest to accomplish this goal. I started writing down what I believe was God's instructions. I followed it as best as I knew how. I stopped eating certain foods; junk food, sugary drinks, red meat, and poultry. I only ate from the sea and lots of veggies.

As our fast was coming to an end, I had a talk with God. I wanted what we had and I knew it would require discipline, determination and the strength of God.

I'm researching my new found lifestyle and each time learn why God chose it for me. I have incorporated a 7-day fast with other prayer warriors. We have seen the growth in our relationship with God. I invite you to join us as we approach another school year.

Select what type of fast and the duration. Join us during our cooperate prayer time for strength and God's Word to inspire you to keep pushing.

‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Jesus also told his disciples how to fast with joy and not with a feeling of sorrow, as the religious leaders at that time did. In Matthew 6:16-18, "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret will reward you."

Let Us Pray:

Father purity us as we intentionally come to you, O Lord. Prepare our hearts, mind, body, and spirit to yield to you. Lord we love you and believe this time has been scheduled for us to turn aside from everything for you. To seek your face, study your word, hear your voice and do your will. I bind every adversary that will attempt to be a distraction from us to achieve our goal. Anoint us to be serious and alert in the name of Jesus, Amen
